Treasury of 100 Storybook Classics Makes Once Upon a Time Come Alive!

Surely you know by now that we love books around here....And The Treasury of Storybook Classics is one of our new favorites. This 16 DVD collection uses today’s technology to share 100 award-winning classic children’s stories. From the Maurice Sendak classic Where the Wild Things Are, to the beloved adventures of Curious George and Corduroy, parents and children alike are sure to enjoy these classic treasures, featuring celebrity narration from Sarah Jessica Parker, Meryl Streep, James Earl Jones, and many more! Everyone in the family will be amazed with these animated, color adaptations of these classics. Parents will love the fact that this set includes many respected works of literature as well as new inclusions like Diary of a Spider as well as Harold and the Purple Crayon.

Divided into sixteen separate DVDs, each represents a thematic collection of stories and has a conbined run time of 1146 minutes - great for a long road trip! Each DVD features four featured titles that play with optional read-along text that displays along the bottom of the screen and changes color as each word is narrated. The stories that are the most well known also feature foreign-language narrations and read-along text in the target language. Some of the titles include Spanish versions of Make Way for Ducklings, The Snowy Day, Where the Wild Things Are (also available in French), Click, Clack, Moo and more. We loved the fact that they include a guide for checking off which Scholastic Storybook Treasures are in the collection along with an activity book that corresponds with several of the stories.

This is a great gift for anytime - everyone loves a good story!
