Tired of Thinking Outside the Box...

Do you have a co-worker that peppers every other sentence with annoying clichés that are meant to impress but only serve to get on the last nerve of anyone who is listening? Don’t worry – apparently it is a problem of epidemic proportions in board rooms and cubicles around the globe. A recent survey conducted by a British company ranked the most irritating business-speak phrases, and here they are:

1.  Thinking outside of the box
2.  Touch base
3.  At the end of the day
4.  Going forward
5.  Blue sky thinking
6.  Out of the box
7.  Credit crunch
8.  Heads-up
9.  Downsizing
10. Ducks in a row
11. Brainstorming
12. Thought shower
13. 360 degree thinking
14. Pushing the envelope
15. In the loop

Perhaps you can keep your co-worker in the loop when you forward this to him/her and give them a heads-up that every time they give you a thought shower, you want to get all of their ducks in a row and do some significant downsizing
