A History Making Latina...Si, Si!

On Saturday, Sonia Sotomayor became the first Hispanic Justice of the Supreme Court and the first Justice to have her oath-taking televised nationally.  Powerful accomplishments for the Latina raised in the tenements of New York City by a widowed mother.  Her magnificent academic achievement at Princeton (graduated summa cum laude) and subsequent law degree from Yale University, set the stage for a professional career leading to her nomination to the Supreme Court.

Being inclined to believe a “well-qualified” woman would be the best choice for America, and wanting be informed in our conviction, we quickly read Sonia Sotomayor: An Introduction to the Prospective Supreme Court Justice by Margarita Amador. Amador provided a very measured analysis of Sotomayor’s qualifications…all facts presented in a very interesting and readable manner. Now, with confirmation completed, we anxiously await the November publication of Jonah Winter’s biography of the newest justice, Sonia Sotomayor:  A Judge Grows in the Bronx.

But, you don’t have to wait to get to know this history maker - order your copy of the Amador publication today!
